		PROLOTHERAPY TREATMENT CONSISTS OF a series of injections. While injections do involve a degree of discomfort, we go to great lengths to minimize your discomfort during treatment. Our integrated approach utilizes powerful topical anesthesia and a Tennent Biomodulator (a device that utilizes a mild electric current) to minimize discomfort. The most commonly used injection contains a concentrated sugar solution (15% Dextrose) along
	with two local anesthetics. The level of discomfort is mild to moderate, but brief. Most people drive home, and can return to normal activities quickly. Sedation can be employed, but is rarely necessary. At Prolotherapy Nashville we tailor the treatment to each individual to maximize your results. Some people want to work on small areas in sequence. Other people want to get better as fast as possible, and therefore want as many areas treated at once as possible. We will discuss treatment options with you at length and agree on a plan that is right for you. There are several ‘proloferant solutions’ that will prompt healing. We will discuss proliferant additives if these might improve your results. These additives include human growth hormone, sodium morrhuate, manganese, zinc, glucosamine, and calcium. We are also using an exciting new proliferant strategy, Platelet Rich Plasma. If this is appropriate in your situation, this will be offered.
